I can't wait for the RVCF Fall Conference! We have programs for everyone who does business in retail. We're leading off with a renowned keynote, Doug Stevens. Doug will look ahead and present what he sees as the future for retail, its brands, and the consumer. And, once again, we're doing a deep dive into ASN Accuracy. Dr. Brian Gibson from Auburn University will present his fact finding study, demonstrating whether the Retail industry is improving overall shipment accuracy or if we're slipping – we'll see!
Next, RVCF is getting deep into e-commerce this November. Be honest – whether you're a retailer or a brand, you're attempting to sell online! RVCF will have consultants, academia, and retail speakers focusing on such topics as scorecarding your e-commerce performance; buy online/pick-up in store; logistics that drive same day delivery; best practices in drop shipping; e-commerce planning and forecasting; and, finally, inventory visibility, as you can't sell what you don't have!
Shipping Canada? We're covering Canadian customs issues, shipping on-time north of the border, and Canadian product safety requirements. How about RTV's, vendor shortages, and retail shrinkage in the supply chain? We're jumping back into that pool as well to explore the bane in the trading partner relationship!
For accounts payable and accounts receivable managers, we'll have roundtable presentations and discussions just for you, including an update on the work of The Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis Remittance Coalition, where we reduced the number of 426 adjustment reason codes from over 750 to 78. This abridged list has been approved by both the X9 and X12 ANSI standard committees. What RVCF is attempting to do now is to gain adoption by the retail industry. Other payment transaction conversations will take place during the roundtables.
Another big part of RVCF conferences are the one-on-one meetings between retailers and their merchandise suppliers (over 625 scheduled meetings in Fall 2013). What an excellent time management tool for retailers to meet with 20-30 of their brands all at one location (a very nice one at that!) and for merchandise suppliers to meet with their top retail customers. As the MasterCard commercial slogan says, "Priceless!" And, of course, we'll hold open forums for both retailers and merchandise suppliers to explore the newest and most innovative ways to address working together and improving margins for both sides of the aisle.
Finally, we have asked APEX Analytix, Compliance Networks and Retail Solutions, Inc., to develop the retail-merchandise supplier interface of the future. Their demonstration will include futuristic aspects for trading partner interaction in the following three disciplines: supply chain, inventory, and financial, including automated, workflow, real time updates, and transactional reconciliation.
This is truly the event of the year for those retailers and brands who want to collaborate!
So, if you're a regular attendee or someone that has watched from afar, this is the year to attend! RVCF takes retailers and their merchandise suppliers to the highest level of collaboration.
