Members of the RVCF supplier community have repeatedly asked for guidance when working with Walmart. This isn't surprising when you consider that Walmart is the world's largest retailer, according to Fortune. Suppliers are constantly asking about what they can do to improve their relationships with Walmart and how to navigate their portal.

RVCF has stepped up to the plate by developing two sessions for the sole purpose of educating suppliers about working with Walmart at the RVCF Spring Conference, being held May 7-10, 2017 at the Crystal Gateway Marriott in Arlington, VA, just minutes from downtown Washington, DC.

It's no secret that Walmart has tight shipping windows and strict compliance requirements. Presentations at the RVCF Spring Conference are designed to help suppliers receive and process orders, filter orders through their systems, and get orders out the door as quickly as possible.

Presenters come from areas within the retailer organization that suppliers would be dealing with on a regular basis, offering firsthand insights on compliance and supply chain to optimize performance and efficiency and build stronger trading partner relationships. These sessions will dig deep into specific scenarios and explain what suppliers need to do, what information they need, and where exactly they need to go in order to minimize issues and satisfy compliance requirements.

Doing Business with Walmart and Maximizing Your Access to Retail Link
Tim Carey, President of Trend Results, a leading supplier training and consulting firm, will lead four hours of Walmart Retail Link training sessions. Tim will cover a number of topics related to working with Walmart, including but not limited to:

In addition to providing valuable information to help suppliers optimize and analyze supply chain performance, these sessions will dive into customer behavior and loyalty, and how to use community demographic information from Retail Link to understand who is buying your products and identify opportunities in new markets.

Walmart: Planning, Forecasting, Allocation and Hitting a Tight Shipment Window
Many training sessions focus too much on what needs to be done and not enough on why. Diane Murphy, Retail Link Analyst/Demand Planner at Kenney Manufacturing Company, will discuss the ever-increasing expectations of Walmart and why their customers are so demanding. Diane will outline ways to meet Walmart's requirements avoid costly deductions, and increase ROI through planning, forecasting and replenishment.

As Walmart expectations get higher and higher, shipping windows get tighter and tighter, and customer demands continue to increase, the implementation of best practices is critical. Diane will share best practices for working with Walmart and explain how suppliers can build and maintain better working relationships with their Walmart counterparts.
