As part of a multi-threaded financial transformation effort in Albertsons Safeway’s National Shared Services Center, Gregg Maxwell, Group Vice President, is leading the implementation of apexportal Supplier Registration that will be used to manage 70,000 suppliers. The operational focus of the implementation is to reduce the cycle time for setting up suppliers, assure complete supplier information, prevent duplicate supplier records and eliminate paper processes. Strategically, apexportal Supplier Registration will promote compliance and reduce fraud through real-time supplier data validation against trusted government, regulatory and authoritative third-party data sources. 

 

Gregg will discuss how the current deployment of apexportal Supplier Inquiry has facilitated supplier communications for invoice and payment inquiries while also highlighting the expectations for the Supplier Registration solution now being implemented.

Gregg MaxwellGregg is a Certified Public Accountant and has a master’s degree in business; he has led the National Service Center in Phoenix Arizona for the past 19 years. With the merger of Safeway and Albertsons, the National Service Center is now responsible for all aspects of retail accounting processes and payroll for 2,250 stores, 285,000 employees, 23 distribution facilities and 20 manufacturing plants with 20 different banners throughout the United States.

Gregg is leading Albertsons’ digital transformation utilizing Robotics, Optimization Technology and the implementation of a new Cloud Based Financial System.

Prior to joining Safeway/Albertsons, Gregg worked for the Dial Corporation for 18 years. He was Director of Finance for the International Division, including Asia/Australia and lived in Hong Kong for a time.

Danny ThompsonDanny Thompson is Senior Vice President of Market and Product Strategy at apexanalytix and is responsible for defining, communicating and leading our company’s software product strategy and roadmap. Danny has a proven track record in the procure-to-pay arena, with a strong background in ERP implementation, process automation and financial shared services. He previously was VP of Product Management at Tungsten Network, a global business-to-business e-invoicing firm. He also is a former global process driver for Invoice-to-Pay at Pfizer.
