Please follow these minimum requirements to ensure proper functionality when using the RVCF website:
- Operating Systems – The following operating systems have been tested for compatibility:
- Windows 7 and higher
- Mac OS 10.14.6
- Browsers – The following minimum browser versions are necessary:
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 11 (with Compatibility View turned "OFF")
- Google Chrome OS
- Firefox 36
- Safari 8
Older versions require updated Security Settings (see next bullet).
- Security Settings for all browsers – Secure portions of the site utilize SSL with TLS 1.2 encryption. Due to the POODLE vulnerability of SSL 3.0 in October 2014 (which is disabled on the RVCF site), we're taking additional security measures:
- TLS 1.2 – While this is enabled by default for newer browsers, older browser versions such as Internet Explorer 10 and lower will require this option enabled. Please also note that Internet Explorer 10 and lower are no longer supported by Microsoft.
Upgrading your internet browser is the surest and best way to confirm TLS 1.2 is enabled; however, if you must access the site before upgrading, Windows users can follow these steps to enable TLS 1.2 for older browsers:
- Open the "Control Panel"
- Click on "Internet Options" in the menu
- Click on the "Advanced" tab
- Scroll down to the "Security" category and place a check in the box next to "Use TLS 1.2"
- Click on the "OK" button

- SHA-2 – Microsoft and Google announced SHA-1 deprecation plans that will affect websites with SHA-1 certificates expiring as early as December 31, 2015. As such, we will migrate to SHA-2 to comply with recommended security protocols.

- Accept Cookies – We strongly recommend your computer accepts cookies for proper functionality. Some site features like the "Remember Me" function require the use of cookies. Note that some desktop security suites will disable JavaScript and cookies.
- JavaScript Enabled – Ensure your browser allows JavaScript to run. In most instances, this is the default setting when the browser is installed. Certain aspects of the site will not function properly if JavaScript is disabled.
PLEASE NOTE: It may be necessary to contact your company's IT department for help with these settings as modifications to your computer's settings are outside our scope of our services. Retail Value Chain Federation (RVCF) is not responsible for issues arising from computer modifications made to meet the minimum requirements necessary to utilize the site.
